I believe that one of the most important factors in productive psychotherapy is the relationship between client and therapist.
It is for this reason that I offer my first session free of charge.
This initial meeting can help us establish how best we can work together.
I understand that the choice to come to counselling is not always an easy one and if this is your first experience of therapy you may be feeling apprehensive. This first session can also help you to understand how therapy works and what you can expect.
There is no obligation to continue after the initial session
Once we agree to work together, we will meet at a regular time usually once weekly for 50 minutes.
Psychotherapy lasts as long as you feel you need it to and depends on the nature of the issues that you bring and what you would like to achieve.
You may generally be happy with your life but need a little support with a specific issue. This type of work could to be short-term and may only require a few sessions. For others, longer term psychotherapy or open ended work is more suitable because you want to make changes on a deeper level.
I also offer video sessions when face-to-face is not possible.
In addition to individual therapy I also offer couples therapy.
These sessions last 60 minutes.
